TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State railway operator PT Kereta Api Indonesia, or , offers a cost-effective and comfortable travel solution for the public during the of Chinese New Year and Isra Miraj from January 24 to February 3, 2025. A total of 1,308,943 seats will be made available for long-distance train travel.

KAI Deputy President of Public Relations Anne Purba said that the public's enthusiasm can be seen from the high number of ticket sales. On January 24, 2025, a total of 132,977 tickets had been sold, exceeding the capacity of 129,166 seats, or an occupancy rate of 103 percent. The same thing happened on January 25, 2025, when ticket sales reached 135,284 tickets or 104 percent of the capacity of 129,836 seats.

"The occupancy rate above 100 percent is due to dynamic passengers, those who get on and off at intermediate stations before the final destination station," Anne said in a written statement on Friday, January 24, 2025.

KAI, to meet the demand, operates additional trains to various popular destinations, covering the community's favorite routes from Bandung, Jakarta, Surabaya, and Yogyakarta. 

The additional trains provided include the Argo Parahyangan Train for the Bandung-Gambir route and vice versa, the Sembrani Train for the Surabaya Pasar Turi-Gambir route, and the Gambir-Yogyakarta Train for the Jakarta-Yogyakarta route. There is also an additional Lempuyangan-Pasar Senen train and several other additional trains for the Solo Balapan-Bandung and Solo Balapan-Gambir routes.

Anne explained that these additional trains give customers flexibility in choosing travel schedules at affordable prices. Ticket reservations can be easily made through the Access by KAI application, KAI's official website, and other official ticket sales partners.

"This long holiday is the right time to travel with family or friends. We are ensuring that people can enjoy affordable travel without compromising on comfort and safety," he said.
This move, Anne said, also reflects KAI's commitment to supporting community mobility and providing the best service in line with the company's Asta Cita spirit.
