AirAsia's Parent Company Ready to Serve 50,000 Indonesian Umrah Pilgrims
The parent company that houses AirAsia has signed a partnership agreement to increase the number of Umrah pilgrims from Indonesia.
TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Ikhlas Com Travel & Umrah Sdn Bhd (ikhlas.com) part of Capital A, the parent company that also houses , has signed a partnership agreement with the Muhammadiyah Hajj and Umrah Development Institute (LPHU) and Impian International Sdn Bhd. This agreement is to increase the number of pilgrims from Indonesia.
Ikhlas.com Chief Executive Officer Ikhlas Kamarudin said the demand for Umrah travel from Indonesia is very large so his institution is trying to meet this need. "Through this partnership, we can finally offer easy access for more Indonesians to get a full-service Umrah experience at an affordable price, including flights to Saudi Arabia with AirAsia X," said Ikhlas in a written statement, quoted Sunday, January 19, 2025.
Ikhlas added that ikhlas.com's mission is to serve at least 10,000 Indonesian pilgrims in the first year. He said that number would increase to 50,000 pilgrims after understanding the specific market needs and providing appropriate services effectively.
"We are proud to introduce the LPHU Umrah package at a very affordable price, which is IDR 21 million, which provides an opportunity for pilgrims to perform the Umrah pilgrimage with guaranteed prices, flights, and accommodation, even with budget-friendly options for all groups," said Ahmad Labib, Member of the House of Representatives in the same written statement.
Through this agreement, ikhlas.com will collaborate with LPHU Muhammadiyah and Impian International to provide affordable Umrah packages and flights with AirAsia X, while ensuring quality service and security for the Indonesian Umrah market.
The agreement was signed by ikhlas.com Chief Executive Officer, Ikhlas Kamarudin, LPHU Secretary, Dr. Marjuki Al Jawiy, and Impian International Sdn Bhd Chief Executive Officer, Mohd Arafat Muhammad. The signing was witnessed by Member of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia, Ahmad Labib, who is also the Treasurer of LPHU.
In 2024, ikhlas.com has sent more than 110,423 pilgrims to Saudi Arabia and served almost 5,500 pilgrims, and has around 600,000 users. In addition to offering Umrah and Muslim-friendly travel, ikhlas.com collaborates with its subsidiary airline, X, this platform also makes it easier for Muslims to pay Zakat, Sadaqah, Aqiqah, Fidyah, Qurban, and others.
