The Commander of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) has urged every soldier to carry out their duties creatively and innovatively in the field.

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Commander of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (), General Agus Subiyanto, expressed concern about soldiers who were acting arrogantly. He appealed to all TNI members to behave well to maintain the people's trust.

"Nurture solidarity and unity with all elements of the nation by not showing arrogant behavior and always maintaining the people's trust," Agus said in his address at the opening ceremony of the law enforcement operation (Opsgaktib) and TNI Military Police Yustisi, at TNI Headquarters, Cilangkap, East Jakarta, on Monday, February 10, 2025.

Agus referred to the Gaktib and Yustisi operations as efforts to deal with arrogant soldiers. He stated that military law enforcement and discipline are critical factors at the forefront of the nation's defense.

"Therefore, the operation carried out today is aimed at upholding the mandate given by the state to the TNI," Agus said.

Agus mentioned that law enforcement and discipline protect TNI soldiers from abusing their authority. He said that the measures also include violations of using resources for purposes outside the nation's defense duties.

He urged every TNI soldier to carry out their duties creatively and innovatively in the field. Therefore, Agus said that the Gaktib and Yustisi operations in 2025 can run optimally. "Enhance supervision and control so that this operation can proceed as expected," he said.

The Gaktib and Yustisi operations prioritize educational, preventive, and persuasive factors. Agus stated that this approach is so that TNI soldiers can comply with existing laws. "TNI soldiers become disciplined and law-abiding because of a high level of awareness to adhere to the regulations," he said.

On January 2, 2025, three of the Indonesian Navy, namely Sergeant (Sertu) AA, Sertu RH, and Leading Seaman (KLK) BA, were involved in a shooting case of a car rental boss at Rest Area KM 45 Tangerang-Merak Toll Road. The case resulted in the death of the car rental boss, Ilyas Abdurrahman.

Military Court II-08 will hold the first trial for the shooting case of the car rental boss today. The trial will begin at 09.00 WIB at Military Court II-08 Jakarta, Cakung, East Jakarta.

In addition, a member of the Sub-Detachment Military Police (Subdenpom) preparation in Belitung Regency, Sergeant Major Randi, suffered serious injuries after being shot by a former TNI soldier from the Military Command Post (Korem) 042 Garuda Putih Jambi, Sergeant Hendri.

The Commander of Subdenpom Belitung, Second Lieutenant Jaka Budi Utama, stated that Randi is currently receiving intensive care at Marsidi Judono Tanjung Pandan Regional General Hospital (RSUD) after the bullet projectile was removed from his body.
