List of 8 Museums in the World Opening This Year

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta -  have become one of the most popular tourist attractions in recent decades. Museums are a place to preserve, foster, and provide learning for the community. Paintings, history, culture, science, and technology are exhibited as a process to educate visitors.

Currently, many museums are built with different themes and diverse collections. As reported by Lonely Planet, there are eight museums that will open in 2025.

1. Museum of Modern Art Warsaw, Poland

The Museum of Modern Art Warsaw focuses on the works of Polish artists produced in the 20th and 21st centuries. MSN Warsaw, as it is called, is directly opposite the Stalin-era Culture and Science building. The exhibition collection will be displayed in four parts, opening to the public on February 21, 2025.

2. Yale Center for British Art, New Haven, United States

After being closed for two years, the Yale Center for British Art will reopen on March 29, 2025. During the closure, major infrastructure repairs were carried out on this gallery. At the museum, visitors can see a completely recreated narrative of British art from the 16th century to the present day. Including new perspectives on colonialism, global trade, and the contributions of women artists.

3. The Frick Collection, New York, United States

At The Frick Collection, travelers can see beautiful paintings by Vermeer, Rembrandt, and Holbein. The works were collected by industrialist Henry Clay Frick and displayed in his former home on Fifth Ave. The Frick Collection will reopen in the spring of 2025. This opening provides an opportunity to see the second floor which was once the residence of Henry Clay Frick and his family.

4. Naoshima New Museum of Art, Japan

The Naoshima New Museum of Art is a design by Tadao Ando which was built to continue the Naoshima tradition, a combination of art and nature. The structure is located on a hillside with its galleries showing views of the Seto Inland Sea. The museum is set to open in spring 2025.

5. V&A East Storehouse, London, England

The Victoria & Albert Museum is set to open a new branch that will give visitors a closer look at its 2.8 million-strong collection of textiles, fashion items, sculptures, furniture and more. The new museum, which will open on May 31, 2025, will showcase how the museum collects, preserves and curates objects. A free access program will allow visitors to request specific objects to be viewed with museum experts.

6. Studio Museum, Harlem, New York, United States

The Studio Museum has been closed to the public since 2018 to begin construction on its new building. It will reopen in the fall of 2025. The Studio Museum itself is a center for local, national and international African-American artists. The museum has been collecting works by African-American artists for 60 years.

7. National Museum of Photography, Rotterdam, Netherlands

The National Museum of Photography, with its collection of 6.5 million images, will move into a former warehouse in Rotterdam’s historic district in the fall of 2025. It will be a great place for travelers interested in Dutch culture or who love great images.

8. Zayed National Museum and Guggenheim, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates

The Zayed National will bring Arab history and culture to life through interactive displays and cultural artifacts. Its new building pays homage to Emirati culture with five steel structures that resemble eagle wings. The Guggenheim Abu Dhabi is a unique building made up of monumental cubic, conical and cylindrical shapes that houses a collection of modern and contemporary works.
