Prabowo: Indonesia Seeks Joint Venture with Turkish Defense Companies

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian President Subianto has expressed Indonesia's desire for joint ventures with Turkish defense companies to President Recep Tayyip Erdogan during a bilateral meeting at the Bogor Presidential Palace, West Java, on Wednesday, February 12, 2025.

According to Prabowo, the defense industry cooperation between Indonesia and Turkiye has been going well. He mentioned having met with Turkish defense companies in Istanbul in December 2024.

"We also ask for Your Excellency's support for a joint venture with several Turkish companies. We want to have joint production in the defense industry," said Prabowo.

He further thanked Erdogan for helping to enhance cooperation in the defense industry between Indonesia and Turkiye. Currently, Indonesia is collaborating with several major Turkish defense companies, including Roketsan, Aselsan, Havelsan, and Baykar. "And we are serious about participating in joint programs with Turkiye," he said.

The motorcade carrying Turkish President arrived at the Bogor Presidential Palace, Bogor City, West Java, on Wednesday, February 12, 2025. His arrival was greeted by 75 mounted troops from the Presidential Security Force. The number 75 was chosen to symbolize the 75 years of relations between Indonesia and Turkiye.
