TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The 7th Indonesian President Joko Widodo or supports an investigation related to the polemic of installations in several regions. The father of Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka highlighted the legalization process of the right-to-build certificate (HGB) and ownership certificate (SHM) issuance for each of the sea fences.

"I think the most important thing is to check, to investigate. Did it follow the legal process or not," Jokowi told reporters after meeting with former Coordinating Minister for the Economy Hatta Rajasa at a restaurant in Solo City, Central Java, Friday, January 24, 2025.

According to Jokowi, the certificate issuance process certainly begins at the sub-district, district, and district levels to the National Land Agency (BPN) office for ownership certificates (SHM) and the relevant ministry for HGB. "Just check whether or not the legal process, the legal procedures, and everything was done properly," he said.

Jokowi also said that the HGB and SHM polemics in the sea area not only occur in Tangerang but also in Bekasi and East Java. "And it's not only in Tangerang, Bekasi, but also in East Java and other places. The most important thing is to check, to investigate," he said.

Currently, the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning has revoked around 50 HGB and SHM belonging to a number of companies and individuals in Tangerang waters. The ministry is also questioning land office officials involved in issuing the certificates. As for the existence of the sea fence, joint personnel from several agencies are still dismantling it.

Regarding his meeting with Hatta Radjasa, Jokowi said they discussed political and economic issues. But the main point of the meeting was an invitation from Hatta Radjasa to attend the wedding reception of his son, Muhammad Rasyid Amrullah Radjasa, to be held in Jakarta on February 1, 2025.
