KCIC Adds Daily Trip Schedule for Whoosh
PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC) has announced an increase in the daily schedule for its Whoosh high-speed train to 62 trips.
TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC) has announced an increase in the daily schedule for its Whoosh high-speed train to 62 trips, effective February 1, 2025. The move aims to provide passengers with more options, greater flexibility, and enhanced travel convenience through a more diverse timetable.
Eva Chairunisa, General Manager Corporate Secretary of KCIC, stated that the decision reflects the growing demand for the Whoosh service. Since its commercial launch in October 2023, Whoosh has served over 7.5 million passengers as of January 2025.
“Since operations began in October 2023, KCIC has gradually increased the number of regular trips. Initially, Whoosh operated 14 trips per day, which rose to 28 trips in November 2023, 40 trips in December 2023, and 48 trips starting in May 2024. From February 2025, the schedule will expand to 62 trips daily,” Eva explained in an official statement on Saturday, January 18, 2025.
Ticketing System Updates Underway
Eva added that KCIC is finalizing its ticketing system for the expanded routes. The public is advised to await official announcements regarding ticket purchase procedures and timelines for travel starting February 1, 2025.
“We hope this initiative will make it easier for people to use the Whoosh service while addressing the growing demand for high-speed transportation,” she said.
Modern Mobility Solution
The Whoosh high-speed train is a modern transportation solution in Indonesia, offering passengers speed and time efficiency. Serving the Jakarta–Bandung route, it connects four main stations: Halim, Karawang, Padalarang, and Tegalluar.
With the new schedule, KCIC aims to better meet the mobility needs of the public, further solidifying Whoosh’s role in advancing Indonesia’s transportation infrastructure.
