TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Ministry of Public Works and the Nusantara Capital () Authority are developing a new design for the legislative and judicial offices in the new capital. Minister of Public Works, Dody Hanggodo, revealed that President Prabowo Subianto has instructed a benchmarking trip to Turkiye, Egypt, and India.
"Perhaps when he visited there, he found the legislative and judicial offices to be similar to those in Indonesia," Dody said when met at the Ministry of Public Works on Thursday, January 13, 2025. "After the visits, we will reconstruct the image and convey it to the President."
Prabowo previously requested a review of the design for the legislative and judicial infrastructure buildings. Deputy Minister of Public Works and Head of the Design Team, Diana Kusumastuti, confirmed that the head of state wants a new design.
"He said, 'I want a strong, modern construction," said Diana to journalists at the Ministry of Public Works on Friday, February 7, 2025.
The IKN Authority will lead the future construction of the legislative and judicial buildings. The Head of the IKN Authority, Basuki Hadimuljono, stated that the government has allocated Rp48.8 trillion for IKN development in phase 2, or from 2025 to 2029.
For the construction in 2025, Basuki said that Rp14.4 trillion is needed. The Budget Implementation List (DIPA) of the IKN Authority was set at Rp6.39 trillion, leaving a remaining Rp5.042 trillion due to budget cuts mandated by Presidential Regulation Number 1 of 2025. However, Basuki has requested an additional budget of Rp8.1 trillion for this year.
