Prabowo Invites Indian Entrepreneurs to Invest in Indonesia

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Subianto would like to invite Indian entrepreneurs to invest in Indonesia during his first official visit to the friendly nation on 76th Republic Day on January 26, 2025. During the visit, he is scheduled to meet with several Indian business leaders.

"I will meet with industry leaders and entrepreneurs from India who are interested in investing in Indonesia," said Prabowo before departing for India at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base, East Jakarta, on Thursday, January 23, 2025.

Prabowo is accompanied by representatives from the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) to meet some Indian entrepreneurs.

This visit marks Prabowo's first trip to India as the President of Indonesia. He was invited as a guest of honor to attend India’s 76th Republic Day. Prabowo will be the fourth Indonesian president to be invited as the chief guest, along with a parade performance and a marching band by 352 personnel from the Indonesian military.

“For their 76th Republic Day celebration, they also invited our troops, the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), to participate in the parade. If I’m not mistaken, we will be given the honor of leading the parade as the honorary contingent. Representing us are 352 TNI soldiers and cadets from the Military Academy (Akmil),” said Prabowo.

During the visit, will meet with Indian President Droupadi Murmu and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The President will also sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with India covering some sectors such as health, culture, security, and technological development.

"The MoU agreements cover several areas, including health, culture, security, maritime safety, as well as technology and digital development," said Prabowo.
