TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian Minister of Social Affairs Saifullah Yusuf (Gus Ipul) responded to criticism regarding the frequent misdirected social assistance (). Gus Ipul said that the social protection program will be more effective with the Integrated Social and Economic National Data (DTSEN), which is being finalized.
Gus Ipul claimed that the database will make social assistance more targeted. "We agree with BPS to update the data (DTSEN) every 3 months," said Gus Ipul in an official release on Wednesday, January 12, 2025.
Gus Ipul emphasized that President Prabowo Subianto instructed that the bansos program must be based on accurate and valid data. This accuracy is important because up to now, each agency related to social protection programs has its data.
He hopes that the new collectively gathered data in DTSEN will minimize the misdirection of bansos. The Ministry of Social Affairs distributes about Rp75 trillion bansos every year. This amount is in direct cash transfers to the beneficiaries, including the Family Hope Program (PKH) and Non-Cash Food Assistance (BPNT).
DTSEN is an integration of three main data sources, namely DTKS, Social Economic Registration (Regsosek), and Acceleration of Extreme Poverty Eradication Targeting (P3KE). The data consolidation will be cross-checked by BPS with the Population Administration Information System (SIAK) of the Ministry of Home Affairs to ensure data accuracy.
This singular data will be regulated by the presidential decree as a reference by all parties. However, this data is also dynamic, so the Ministry of Social Affairs together with updates it every three months to ensure its validity.
